​Students in St. Cloud, Minn., have been working to find a way to reach out to seniors who have been socially isolating during the pandemic. A service group called Project Blue Star arranged a musical performance and social hour for a local nursing home. “It’s just cool to perform and brighten their day,” said sophomore Alex Walk.

​Garden View Assisted Living residents in New Iberia, La., were thrilled to have a Mardi Gras parade right outside of their doorstep as staff and volunteers threw a special event for the community. Unlike other parades, the small event allowed the friends, family, and volunteers riding the parade to stop and chat to the residents. “It’s a really great event and the weather was perfect for it,” said Executive Director Lauren Barras.
