Hailey Wetherbee has been named executive director of Summercrest, Newport, N.H. She comes to Summercrest with more than 15 years’ experience in long term care and seniors housing, with nine years’ experience in administrative roles.
Wetherbee’s love for working with the elderly began as a child when she volunteered with her grandmother. She went on to explore opportunities in dining services, recreation therapy, and nursing before finally completing her training to be a nursing home administrator.
Wetherbee is licensed in both New Hampshire and Maine and holds degrees in culinary arts, health services management, and business.
Jackson Creek Senior Living, Monument, Colo., has named Dena Mackey executive director. Mackey will oversee operations of Jackson Creek Senior Living’s 137 independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments.
Mackey has more than 16 years’ experience in the senior living industry. She started her career as a certified nurse assistant in an Alzheimer’s unit and eventually worked at Poudre Valley Hospital on the medical floor and in the operating room. She has since gained experience as an assisted living director, memory care director, and hospice area manager.
Mackey says she has always felt that helping others comes naturally to her. She developed a passion for working with older adults early in her career and enjoys spending quality time getting to know her residents.
Fairview Commons, an Integral Senior Living community in Costa Mesa, Calif., specializing in independent and respite care, has named Catherine Ratelle executive director.
Ratelle brings more than 25 years of experience to the senior living industry and has previously served as an executive director, regional director of operations, and vice president of operations. In her most recent position with Integral Senior Living, Ratelle served residents by opening new communities and improving established ones.
Her primary responsibilities at Fairview Commons includes directing the community’s day-to-day operations and team management, as well as working with the management company, Integral Senior Living. In addition, she will supervise and oversee hiring all department heads and staff.
Integral Senior Living has also named Landon Hale executive director of Queen Anne Manor, Seattle, Wash.
Hale comes to Queen Anne Manor with a variety of experiences, including working as a physical therapy technician at a startup company and working with troubled youth at a residential treatment center.
Arrow Senior Living Management, St. Charles, Mo., a growing senior living community sales and management company for new developments and turnarounds, has announced that Tracy Cecil has joined the company as regional director for operations, St. Louis region.
Most of Cecil’s 20-year health care career has been as a senior living administrator for independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities. As regional director for Arrow’s St. Louis operations, she is responsible for nearly 400 units at The Boulevard Senior Living at St. Charles, The Boulevard Senior Living at Wentzville, and the soon-to-open Kingsland Walk Senior Living in University City.
Waltonwood Lake Boone, a senior living community in Raleigh, N.C., has added four new members to its assisted living and memory care team: Samantha Toms, Takisha Craven, Laura Gremore, and Sharon Staten.
Toms joins the team as memory care life enrichment manager. She previously served as a recreational therapist. In her new role, Toms will create programs, ensure residents are engaging in vibrant and meaningful activities, oversee all events, schedule outside performers, and supervise the life enrichment team.
Craven takes on the role as memory care wellness coordinator. She is a seasoned health care professional with 10 years of experience working with seniors who have Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. She will be responsible for the day-to-day health care operations of the memory care neighborhood to ensure residents’ health care needs are met.
Gremore is the assisted living life enrichment manager. She will develop and facilitate personalized and purposeful programming for residents based upon hobbies, interests, occupation, and life events.
Staten, a licensed practical nurse, serves as the assisted living wellness coordinator. She has worked as a nurse for more than 15 years. Staten will see to the health care needs of all residents.
